One would think that it would be easy to sell on EBay. Find item, take photo of item, list item, sell item.
Alas, it is never quite that easy....
First - FIND the item - no easy task for those of us who are organizationally impaired.
Second - Once the item is found - one must take a photo of said item. This goes okay sometimes, but I've never had a steady hand and often I end up with a blurred picture, or the lighting isn't right or the item is bigger than the place I have where I take the photo...or my favorite...the batteries are dead because I left the camera on!
Third - Write the description. Is the item tall, short, round, square...what about odd shape items? If it is glass, what kind is it? Remember, you want that description to be exciting, you want it to make you WANT the item! You have to become a marketing guru to make the picture come alive and the person drool for your merchandise!
Fourth - So then if you're lucky --- the item sells! NOW you must package the item --- the part that I hate! Why do I have boxes for every size you can imagine, but not a single one for the item I need to pack? If the item is fourteen inches - I have ten twelve inch boxes and one eighteen inch box!
BUT...in the end --- I still find EBay fun! I love the challenge of the hunt for the perfect item to sell! I love thinking of clever ways to say what it is and I love getting to practice my photography skills.
Packaging the item...well, that's another story....
