Busy Summer

I confess I've neglected this blog. I said I would do better, but it just hasn't happened. Part of it has been because this has been a busy summer. I wish I could say I've been out having lots of fun, but the truth of it is that it has been mostly a lot of mundane stuff that has made life very hectic. Some days....it feels like things are coming at me from all sides.

The hubby and I were doing somewhat better until this morning. He gets an idea in his mind and once he does, he has tunnel vision. He doesn't see anything else, he doesn't want to talk about anything else and there is no getting him to see reason, no matter how illogical or ill conceived his plan is.

To put this in context, he sold a guitar. The purpose of selling the guitar was to catch up on two bills that we have owed for a couple of years. I supported that. When you are only making $20 payments and you owe over $1000, it is going to take you a long time to get anywhere. But....now he want to try to make a payment on a 3rd bill. I disagree. We can't pay it off and the money that is left would buy new brakes for one of the vehicles, or take care of a couple of household things that we have put off doing for far too long. Of course, it was HIS guitar, so he thinks he should decide. We go from being partners to him thinking he is supreme ruler.

So it goes....he'll pout if we don't do it his way. Things will go undone if we do. In the end, one of us will be unhappy because he can't learn the word "compromise."

And....this is how so far....my summer has gone....
